• Kolgrafarfjörður, once more

Another view of the beautiful Kolgrafarfjörður, a fjord on the northern coast of the Snæfellsnes peninsula, on Iceland's west coast.

  • Tjörnin

Tjörnin is a small lake in downtown Reykjavík - the name literally means "the pond". It completely freezes over in winter, but it's a popular bird feeding place for tourists in summer (or autumn, as pictured here).

  • Wild flowers

It was a gray, misty winter day at the Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, in the Santa Cruz Mountains, south of San Francisco. Still, in mid winter, some wild flowers were still on display by the side of the hiking tracks.

  • Ferris Wheel

The big ferris wheel in Melbourne (the Melbourne Star) against the afternoon sun. This was taken soon after it opened for the first time, when it was still called the Southern Star - it stayed open for only a bit over a month, then it had to be taken down due to structural damage, and it wouldn't open again until five years later.

  • Pride

Pride parades are happening this month all over the world, and it's very fitting that random.org picked this photo for this week; it was taken at the 2017 Brooklyn Pride Parade, which I featured previously about a year ago.

I photographed most of that event with a then new lens, a manual-focus 85mm f/1.4, which resulted in not many pictures actually being properly in focus...

  • Mount Rainier

Mount Rainier is visible from Seattle most of the time, or at least when the weather cooperates. Here it is at sunset, seen from the top of the Space Needle.

  • Fort Tryon Park

Fort Tryon Park is a public park in upper (north) Manhattan, by the Hudson River. In late spring, it is a very colourful place with flowers of many types - as this Persian onion (also known as Dutch garlic, scientific name Allium hollandicum).
